Upcoming Flooring Trends for 2023

The new year is upon us and we are looking forward to the inspiration and new projects this year. The New Year is a great time to start fresh and make some changes around your home or office. If you're looking to give your space a new look and feel, now's the perfect time to do so! And we've got some ideas to get you started!

There are tons of hot trends in home remodeling right now, and they're all super inspiring. We're going to go through some of our favorites here—and if you're interested in learning more about any of these trends, just visit our website or call in to discuss your project!

Patterns

First up, we're seeing a lot of patterns on the rise. From chevron stripes to geometric shapes, it looks like patterns are here to stay in 2023! Our best advice for incorporating a pattern into your next design? Stick with the natural base color and use a bolder patter as an accent wall or an insert for the bathroom shower walls. Our customer favorite accent wall was DuChateau wall coverings with lots of definition and character.

For the shower walls patters are normally created by adding some intricate mosaics for the shampoo shelf insert. You can also add patterns to the backsplash in the kitchen or bathroom and create an interesting worth-mentioning feature to your home. SomerTile has tons of pattern tile in a variety of colors to create an amazing bathroom space.

Cozy Feel

After the pandemic, many of us redefined what home means to us. With people spending more time inside, the need for warmth and comfort is essential. The best way to create the cozy atmosphere in your home is to use warm tones in your floor coverings and soft tones on your walls complementing it with the natural tones of the furnishings and lots of cozy rugs. We see a lot of wood (whether it’s solid hardwood floors or wood patterns on vinyl and tile flooring), terracotta colored tile accents, and handcrafted tile in warm colors.

You know how it feels when you walk into a room that's full of warm colors, like reds and oranges? It's like you're wrapped in a warm blanket. And that's exactly what you want to achieve in your home design—a sense of warmth and comfort.

The colors we surround ourselves with can have a huge impact on our moods. So if you're looking for ways to create that warm feeling in your home, consider using warm colors in your design.

Go Big for Your Home

If you're looking for a way to add some style and personality to your kitchen or bathroom, we've got just the thing for you!

Large-format tiles are a great way to add a unique touch to any room in your home. They're perfect for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom backsplashes, shower walls, floors, tub surrounds… really any space that could use a little extra pizzazz!

No matter which style of tile you choose—from rustic to modern—it's sure to bring your space to life! And if you have any questions about how to install them, we'll be happy to help. Large format tiles have been gaining popularity since 2020 and now it seems like anywhere you look you can see the vast space of continuous one-piece backsplash in the kitchen or porcelain tile on the floor. Seamless is the main purpose of this trend, due to the desire of homeowners to maintain the space clean and germ-free. Small tiles with endless grout require tons of cleaning which is time consuming.

Go for big tiles and go for long boards for your flooring too. XL floorboards are everywhere. Manufacturers make vinyl and hardwood flooringthat is easy to install, easy to clean and maintain. They make the rooms seem more spacious and create visually pleasing design.

Bold Color Hues

When it comes to bold color palettes, you can't go wrong with a warm palette. Purple, maroon, brown, and navy are all colors that work well together and will help your design projects come alive.

Purple is a great choice for most designs because it's such a versatile color. It can be used in anything from branding to home décor, and it'll always looks good. Maroon is another great option for any type of design because it pairs well with many different shades of purple. Brown can also be used as an accent color throughout your project or as the primary color in certain areas—it's an excellent way to add depth and texture to your home design when remodeling! Navy is another classic choice that is often overlooked when considering bold color palettes. It has a deep richness that makes it perfect for use in corporate settings or when you're trying to convey professionalism in your designs.

Of course, there's no rule saying these four colors are the only ones that can be included in a bold color palette—you could always add some bright yellows, deep reds or greens into the mix as well! You can incorporate bold color hues in your kitchen cabinetry, bathroom tile for the shower, and even go for darker wood or laminate flooring. Mohawk Laminate flooring is a great example. Mohawk's Revwood Plus Laminate is warm and traditional with a wide range of colors to fit any home or office. The deep graining and hand scrapping add contrast and charter to any space. Revwood is 100% waterproof and resists stains, scratches and dents.
