Cheap cheap cheap

The floor is lovely in photographs and is a great color that we truly love. We chose the Escalara Charbray. We did the glue down application, because we hate the “clacking” of floating floors. That being said, we would never buy this flooring again. It is SO thin, that it needs tons of weight while gluing down to prevent “pockets” from bowing and creating hollow spot under it. So it does have a lot of “clacking” as I call it. Durability would be a 0 out of 5. The veneer is paper thin. I dropped the hose of the shop vac on accident and the tip put a crack/dent in the floor, among other items (wine glass that broke) that easily breaks the veneer. Not to mentioned that anything more than a pillow will scratch this flooring. I have managed to find some ways to “hide” scratches, but they are still there and we haven’t even moved into the house yet. With kids and a dog, this will be a nightmare. The boards themselves are also super thin, which is why they bow easily and need weights during glue down. For the cost of this flooring, although inexpensive, we would happily pay double next time for a flooring that will stand up over time of normal use. This flooring is only good for photos. 2 out of 5 starts because we love the look and color. It cannot be resurfaced. Is beyond fragile and was difficult to install in a quality manner. Buyer beware
